Say goodbye to Martin Strobel.

On Saturday, January 14th, 2023, the time had come, and the game was interrupted after 55 minutes and 17 seconds, officially ending Martin Strobel’s sporting career. Martin Strobel (36) enjoyed his final minutes on the pitch with standing ovations lasting minutes from the fans in the sold-out SparkassenArena in Balingen.

In an entertaining game between HBW Balingen-Weilstetten and a selection team from Martin Strobel, it was 28:27 for Team Strobel at this point. German handball greats such as Uwe Gensheimer, Michael “Mimi” Kraus, Silvio Heinevetter and Hendrik Pekeler were at his side.

In the subsequent speeches by companions, he was celebrated. Not only was his outstanding career (European Champion 2016, Olympic bronze 2016) recognized. In particular, his human character as a team player and supporter was highlighted. Underlining this kindness and consideration all proceeds from the event went to the German children’s cancer aftercare.

Martin Strobel is considered one of the greatest handball players in Germany in the last 20 years. After his rather quiet career end in 2020 during the corona pandemic, the farewell game was a worthy setting.

Martin Strobel supports BetterGuards

We are happy and grateful that we were able to be part of this evening as partners of Martin Strobel. When he was active in 2019, he was one of the early supporters and advocates of our technology. We are proud that Martin has worn and tested The BetterGuard.

It enabled us to present the ankle bandage on site. We were able to bring The BetterGuard closer to many interested parties. Many thanks for an all-round successful and great event.

During his career, Martin Strobel laid the foundation for his subsequent professional life and studied international management. He now advises companies and executives. He ensures that better team play within the company leads to more success in business. We are pleased that Martin Strobel will remain with us as a partner and supporter of BETTERGUARDS in the future.

“BETTERGUARDS has the potential to have a significant positive impact on the protection and performance of many athletes. I used to play with the BG PROTECTION system when I was playing and am convinced that the latest development – The BetterGuard – will offer the sports community a new kind of protection experience without limitations.”
